The Westin Pasadena will be the venue tonight (Thursday) when La Canada resident Tom Holmes and his company, Holmes Body Shops, is honored with the "2004 Automotive Industry Distinguished Citizen Award" during a benefit gala for the Boy Scouts of America. Holmes has been in business over 25 years in Pasadena serving the community in 10 locations.

The evening, "Monte Carlo Casino. Night," will be emceed by news anchor Kent Shoctnek and will feature new images by NASCAR artist Tracy Holmes and renowned classic car artist Jeff Angel.

Tom and Tracy Holmes moved to La Canada last September. They have three children, Bailey 8, Veronica 6, and Tommy Jr., 4.

The Holmes have long been involved in the community and arts programs supporting art in the public schools in Pasadena before moving to La Canada. Tracy Holmes, besides being one of a very few licensed NASCAR artists, has also been chair person for the Children's Center for the Arts in Pasadena benefiting the public schools. She has served on the board of directors of the Pasadena Arts Counsel for two terms. She developed a non profit art gallery at their historic location in Pasadena, benefiting artists, art organizations and public schools, to help the arts community and the art in public schools.

Tracy and Tom Holmes were also awarded the Pasadena Gold Crown Award for Business in the Arts.
