Next Thursday, Nov. 14, a reception will mark the opening of a show featuring Pasadena City College students. Joey Gonzalez will currate the exhibit of his art along with works by Cameron Murley, Su An Han, Anna Carpenter, Megan Sheinkops, Renee Robles, Poppy van Ditmar, K Howell and Tina Black

The reception, from 6 pm 9 pm is free. The exhibit runs through Dec. 30 and may be viewed any time during Holmes Body Shop's business hours (7 am - 7 pm Monday through Friday and 7 am - 2 pm Saturday).
Well, I suppose one might think an auto body shop, art gallery is a bit of a stretch, if one doesn't know the artist wife of the shop owner. Tracy Holmes thought the lovely, historic building housing the corporate offices of the Holmes Body Shops, with its high ceilinged, rococo-accented interior, offered an imaginative setting for art exhibits.

Not failing to see the promotional advantages of this endeavor, Tom Holmes added his support to his wife's project. To date, the gallery at 1095 E. Colorado Blvd. has hosted exhibits of multimedia art created by local elementary and middleschool students and a special showing of works by Hollywood make-up artist Jeff Angell.
